2010 - 2011 Simons Middle School
Cheerleading Try-Outs
SMS will be holding cheerleading try-outs for any girl currently in the 6th or 7th grades who attend Fleming County Schools. Try-outs will determine members of the Simons Middle School Cheerleading Squad for the 2010-2011 school year.
If you are interested please plan to attend at least two of the following try-out clinics:
Monday, May 24th, 2010 - Simons Middle School Gym - Time: 4:00 to 6:00
Tuesday, May 25th, 2010 - Simons Middle School Gym - Time: 4:00 to 6:00
Wednesday, May 26th, 2010 - Simons Middle School Gym - Time: 4:00 to 6:00
Thursday, May 27th, 2010 - Simons Middle School Gym - Time: 4:00 to 6:00
*At each clinic session girls will receive more information about try-outs. Try-out participants will leanr several sideline cheers, a short floor cheer, and will practice stunting and tumbling.
Try-Outs:
Friday, May 28th, 2010 - Simons Middle School Gym - Time: 4:30 to 6:30
Warm-Up Begins at 4:00
*Each girl will be judged using a 100 point scale. Participants will be judged on attitude, appearance, cheering, tumbling, stunting, and their ability to work with others as part of a team.
* To be eligible to try-out, you must attend at least two of the try-out clinics. For attending additional sessions participants will receive up to 10 extra points for try-outs (5 points per extra session).
*Each participant and participant’s parents must sign a try-out release form prior to try-outs as well as the appropriate paperwork as designated by the coaches. This is to ensure that all parents/participants have read and understand the cheerleading contract rules, procedures, and requirements.

Monday, May 24th, 2010 from 6:00 to 7:00, directly after the first try-out clinic.
